What did we do for Diabetes WA?
Dux and Diabetes WA have a long standing relationship and when they reached out to discuss their branding, it was absolutely a project we wanted to support.
To ensure best results, we collaborated with Warren Campbell (Director at Marketing Why) to help transform the existing brand and tone of voice, into something more contemporary, that better reflected who Diabetes WA as an organisation, had become.
Specifically, we were asked to develop a long-term strategy for elevating and positioning Diabetes WA as a powerful, trusted, visible, and vocal advocate supporting the entire diabetes community in Western Australia.
Working alongside Marketing Why, we took the Diabetes WA Positioning Platform, and started to workshop how we could bring that information to life visually.
Branding
Created a new logo, colour scheme, and font selection to help support new messaging.
Photography
Worked to select photography that felt local and authentic, to supplement existing imagery, and demonstrate the breadth of people impacted by diabetes.
Apparel
Created new shirts to show off new branding and included the indigenous artwork to maintain nods to their past.
What was created for Diabetes WA?
Dux created brand guidelines that covered all areas of focus (online and offline). What was great is the Client was open to changing everything – colours, fonts, logo and photography etc – and this really allowed us to breathe and find a solution that was a lot more closely aligned to the positioning platform.
This collaborative process allowed us to iterate solutions alongside the Client and produce guidelines that not only landed perfectly with the team directly, but also were validated and tested against their own community stakeholders too.
Outcomes of the project include a new logo, a whole new colour palette, direction for “local and authentic” photography, assets like clothing, business cards, email footers, branded collateral (pamphlets, guides etc).
Note: The brand is currently being soft launched, and will be rolled out over the coming months. Dux is not responsible for the current website.
What are some project outcome highlights?
Project highlights include -
- Dux couldn’t be prouder of the outcomes that were achieved alongside Diabetes WA and Marketing Why. We love that this coincides with their 60th anniversary and will support them well into their next 60 years too.
- The experience end to end was great too. Their team was incredibly enthusiastic with this work and clear with their feedback.
- We feel that we've absolutely delivered on branding that speaks to them, speaks of WA, and resonates with their audience.
Testimonial - Myke Bartlett
Designing a new brand for Diabetes WA had two main challenges. We needed a brand that reflected the diversity of our great state, its landscapes and its people. And we needed to reflect that nobody with diabetes has the same experience. Dux were able to rise to these challenges, delivering us a brand that is fresh and modern, while honouring our 60 years of service. Crucially, Dux were able to develop iconography and a colour palette that evokes both the full expanse of the West Australian landscape and the unique journey that each of our consumers is travelling.
Testimonial - Warren Campbell
Working with Barry, Dave, Justin and the Dux team was awesome – all trying to help others do good, better. Dave interpreted the brief beautifully and presented his work just as well. Working with Martin, Mel and the whole Diabetes WA team I’m so proud of the work we all did, together.
